Roeland JG De Moor, DDS, Phd, MSc graduated in 1984 from the Dental School, Ghent University, Belgium. He has an MSc in Paediatric Dentistry and an MSc in Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry (Ghent University, Belgium), and received the PhD degree in 1995 at the same university. He belongs to the group of officially recognised dental judicial experts in Belgium.
At present, he is a senior full professor at the Ghent University (Belgium) and guest professor at the University Clinic of Vienna (Austria); his private clinical practice is devoted to endodontics, dental traumatology, orofacial damage assessment and dental laser bleaching. He has a 35-year expertise in the field of laser applications in dentistry.
His research is focused on the application of laser technology for root canal cleaning and disinfection, endodontic quality, application of light activated nanoparticles for endodontic purposes, Laser Doppler Flowmetry (pulp vitality) and the dynamics of root canal irrigation. He is a member of the editorial board of the International Endodontic Journal, Journal of Endodontics, Journal of Adhesive Dentistry and Dentistry Journal – section “Lasers in Dentistry”; and serves as a reviewer on a regular basis for all dental laser journals and endodontic journals with impact factor. He has authored and co-authored more than 250 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Together with Giovanni Olivi and Enrico DiVito he has authored the book “Lasers in Endodontics”, but has also contributed to several other textbooks on Endodontology, Dental Laser Applications and Restorative Dentistry.

He studied dentistry (D.D.S. degree in 2002) and received his doctoral degree (Dr. med. dent., 2004) from the University of Kiel. From 2002-2014, Prof. Dr. Dommisch was a assistant professor and later associate professor in the Department of Periodontology, Restorative and Preventive Dentistry (University Hospital Bonn). 2006-2007, Prof. Dommisch was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Oral Biology at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA. 2007-2019, he served in the Department of Oral Biology and Department of Oral Health Sciences as an Affiliate Associate Professor. In 2008, Prof. Dommisch completed his habilitation (PhD) and received the venia legendi from the University of Bonn. Since 2010 he has been a Specialist in Periodontology® of the German Society of Periodontology and since 2013 a Specialist in Endodontology of the German Society for Endodontology and Dental Traumatology. In 2014, he received an adjunct professorship at the University of Bonn. From 2014 to 2020, he was Professor and Chairman of the Department of Periodontology and Synoptic Dentistry at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. From 2019-2022, he served as an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Periodontology at the University of Washington. Since 2020, he has been Professor and Director of the Department of Periodontology, Oral Medicine and Oral Surgery at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. He has co-authored in over 180 national and international publications and received numerous research awards. Prof. Dommisch is the current President of the Berlin Society of Periodontology and the current President of the German Society of Periodontology (DG PARO).

Doctor of dental surgery, graduate of the faculty of dentistry of Lyon, Dr. Renaud Noharet then received his post-graduate in dentistry and implantology in Marseille. He obtained the rank of Associate Professor and Hospital Practitioner in 2010. Renaud Noharet obtainer also a PhD from the University of Lyon. He also holds various degrees and certifications on the subject of implantology and prosthesis. His liberal practice located in Lyon, is focused on implantology and the overall rehabilitation of patients. I obtained the Medical Degree at the University Complutense of Madrid (UCM) (1981) and later the Specialty of Stomatology (1983) and Doctorate in Medicine (PhD) at the same university (1985). Then I moved to UCLA (USA) to specialize in Periodontology (1988) and returned to UCM to become Professor of Periodontology (1989). Since then, I have held the position of Chairman of Periodontology, Director of the ETEP (etiology and therapy of periodontal and peri-implant diseases) Research Group and chairman of Postgraduate Periodontology (EFP accredited Perio Specialty Program). I am also Professor type II at the University of Oslo. I have received six honorary doctorate degrees by the Universities of Goteborg (Sweden), Coimbra (Portugal), San Sebastian (Santiago de Chile), University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), Medical University of Warsaw and University of Athens (Greece). I am the past Dean from UCM, past President of the Spanish Society of Periodontology, The European Federation of Periodontology, and the European Federation of the IADR. I have published more than 450 scientific publications (ORCID # 0000-0002-6293-5755), (h-index 79) and I am an international lecturer in topics related to Periodontology, Implant Dentistry and Dental Education.

From 1999 until 2002, Frank Schwarz has worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontology at the University Homburg as well as in the Dep. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Ludwig Maximilians University, München. Prof. Dr. Daniel Thoma is the Head of Implantology and Regeneration at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, University of Zurich, Switzerland. He graduated in 2000 at the University of Basel, Switzerland and was trained in implant dentistry and prosthodontics at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, University of Zurich, Switzerland. Dr. Thoma was the recipient of an ITI scholarship and spent 1 year at the Department of Periodontics, University of Texas, Health Science Center, San Antonio, USA. In 2016, Dr. Thoma was a Visiting Associate Professor at the Department of Periodontology, Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea. Since 2020, Dr. Thoma is an Adjunct Professor and serves as the Head of Implantology and Regeneration. Dr. Thoma is a Fellow of the International Team of Implantology (ITI).

As the Chair Professor and Director of the Shanghai PerioImplant Innovation Center, and Dean of the Institute for Integrated Oral, Craniofacial and Sensory Research, Faculty of Medicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, I have had the privilege of making significant contributions to the field. My influence extends beyond China, as I hold the position of Honorary Professor at the University of Hong Kong, and the Medical University of Vienna. I am also the Executive Director of the European Research Group on Periodontology, and the Editor Emeritus of the Journal of Clinical Periodontology, further demonstrating my global engagement in the field.
My journey in academia has been marked by fruitful collaborations. I have served as a tenured professor and head of the Department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong, the University of Connecticut Health Science Center, and the University College London. These roles have allowed me to work closely with esteemed colleagues, fostering a spirit of collaboration and innovation in the field.
My clinical practice is limited to Periodontology and implant surgery, emphasizing regeneration, minimally invasive surgery, and microsurgery.
My scientific work has changed clinical practice standards in periodontology and implant dentistry. I have been cited more than 56,000 times (Google Scholar H=113, Scopus, 91) and featured in many press and television news reports. He has been engaged worldwide in the planning and delivery of advanced educational programs in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.

Bart VAN MEERBEEK (BVM) obtained his DDS (dentist) in 1988 and his PhD in 1993 at KU Leuven (https://www.kuleuven.be/kuleuven) in Belgium. He continued his research activity abroad for one year at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas, and later also during 3 months at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. In 1995, he became Assistant Professor (‘Docent’) at KU Leuven and since then teaches Dental Biomaterials Science. In 1998 and 2002, he was promoted respectively to Associate Professor (‘Hoofddocent’) and Professor (‘Hoogleraar’), and in 2005 to Full Professor (‘Gewoon Hoogleraar’).
From August 2020, he has served as elected Chair of the KU Leuven Department of Oral Health Sciences (‘Departementsvoorzitter’; https://gbiomed.kuleuven.be/OralHealthSciences), being one of the 14 departments of the Biomedical Sciences Group of KU Leuven, this for four years. On March 12, 2024, BVM was (re-)elected for a second four-year term as Department Chair.
BVM founded BIOMAT, the Biomaterials Research group (https://gbiomed.kuleuven.be/biomat), which focusses on diverse kinds of biomaterials with orofacial application, and encompasses fundamental material science and biological cell culture, micro-organism and animal research, as well as applied laboratory and clinical research. Leading this KU Leuven BIOMAT research team for more than 20 years, today more than 20 full-time PhD students and postdoctoral researchers with diverse backgrounds in dentistry, materials engineering, bioengineering, etc., are employed, most of them being funded on basis of competitively awarded research grants. BVM’s primary research interest involves studies related to the broad field of Adhesive Dentistry, including fundamental as well as clinical research regarding Dental Adhesive Technology in particular. Newer research lines deal with Dental Ceramics, Additive Manufacturing, Cariogenicity & Biocompatibility of Dental Materials, Bioactive Materials and Pulp-preservation Material Technology. His extensive background has endowed BVM with profound expertise spanning various domains of dental material sciences, including but not limited to dental adhesives, restorative and luting materials, dental ceramics, short/long-term clinical RCTs, biomaterial-soft/hard tissue interfaces, implant materials with osseointegration-promoting and anti-periimplantitis surfaces, biomaterials for vital pulp therapy and pulp/bone tissue regeneration, biocompatibility/toxicity of dental materials, subtractive and additive manufacturing, material-cell/bacteria interactions, as well as recent advancements in organoids and bioprinting.
His research work has been published in more than 500 peer-reviewed journals, having resulted in h-indexes of 91Web of Science and 134Google Scholar (over 70k citations). He (co-)authored 3 papers in ‘The 100 most cited articles in dentistry’ (Clin Oral Investig 2013; 18:699-706), 8 papers in the top-100 most cited papers published in the Journal of Dental Research, including the 5th highest cited paper (J Dent Res 2019, 98:1425-1436), 4 papers in the top-100 most cited ‘dentistry overall’ papers (Healthcare 2021, 9, 356), and 11 papers in ‘The top 200 cited articles in restorative dentistry (1945-2019)’ (Turkiye Klinikleri J Dental Sci 2022; 28:165-80).
He has served as promoter/co-promoter of 13/7 PhDs (+ 4/5 ongoing).
He has been honoured with several awards such as the 1996 triennial Robert Stock Award for best PhD dissertation in Biomedical Sciences, the 1997 Albert Joachim Award, the 1998 Biomedical Sciences Award of the Research Council of KU Leuven, the 2000 IADR Young Investigator Award, the 2003 Academy of Operative Dentistry Buonocore Memorial Lecturer, the 2008 CED-IADR (Continental European Division of IADR) Robert Frank Lecturer, the 2014 IADR/AADR William J. Gies Award for the best 2014 JDR paper in the Biomaterials & Bioengineering Research category, the 2015 IADR Wilmer Souder Award (IADR Distinguished Scientist award for Dental Materials), the 2020 EFCD (European Federation of Conservative Dentistry) Award of Excellence and the 2022 IADR Distinguished Service Award.
Since 2003, he has been appointed as holder of the Toshio Nakao Chair for Adhesive Dentistry.
He was President of the Pan-European Federation of IADR in 2006-2007 and served as Secretary of CED-IADR for 12 years (2009-2021) with its office translocated to Leuven. In September 2019 (Madrid), he was elected as President Elect of CED-IADR, became CED-IADR president in September 2020 and organized the 2021 CED-IADR/NOF Oral Health congress in Brussels (September 16-18, 2021: https://ced-iadr2021.com/), and finally retired from the CED-IADR board as Past-President in September 2022.
Since 2004, he is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Adhesive Dentistry.

Dr. Winsauer erhielt seinen Abschluss in Allgemeinmedizin 1980 an der Universität Innsbruck, und absolvierte eine vierjährige klinische Ausbildung für Allgemein- und Intensivmedizin. Ab
1985 begann er seine Ausbildung an der Zahnärztlichen Hochschule in Innsbruck und legte
anschließend seinen fachlichen Schwerpunkt mit einer dreijährigen kieferorthopädischen
Ausbildung.
Seit 1990 unterhält er eine Privatpraxis in Bregenz, Österreich. 1998 bestand er als erster
österreichischer Kieferorthopäde in Privatpraxis die Prüfung zum European Board, seitdem ist
er aktives Mitglied der European Orthodontic Society. Dr. Winsauer ist Autor und Co-Autor
von 15 Peer-Review-Publikationen und von vier kieferorthopädischen Lehrbuchkapiteln. Er ist
Redner auf zahlreichen internationalen Vorträgen (u.a Vorkongresskurs am EOS 2017) und
hält acht internationale kieferorthopädische Patente.
Dr. Winsauer ist nebenberuflich Dozent an den Universitäten Bern und Genf. Eine
hervorragende Zusammenarbeit mit den Universität Graz (Österreich) und Katalonien
(Spanien) ermöglichten eine Reihe gemeinsamer Forschungsprojekte in der Kieferorthopädie.
Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind: Oberkieferexpansion bei Erwachsenen ohne
chirurgische Unterstützung, kieferorthopädische Behandlung mit knochengestützter
Verankerung und mandibuläre Distraktionsosteogenese in der Mittellinie.
